Canal Boat Trips

A particularly pleasant way of getting to know Amsterdam is from the water. Every day, various canal boats make their way through the canals. In an hour you can get a good impression of Amsterdam and its history. Some operators offer the opportunity of leaving the boat to visit particular sights, whereas others just take you past as many sights as possible in a short time. You can also cruise along the canals by private hire of a boat with captain, allowing you to determine your own particular route. Staff at the Ambassade Hotel will gladly supply information on the various facilities.

Urban Home and Garden Tour

From April to October you can take part in a walk along the grand canal-side premises and municipal gardens of which there are many in Amsterdam. This walking tour focuses on five centuries of building and gardening art for which Amsterdam is famous. Certainly worthwhile!

Westerkerk

Apart from church services, the 1631 Westerkerk on the Westermarkt also stages musical events. Furthermore, one can climb the church tower for a magnificent view of Amsterdam's city centre. The church is almost next door to the Anne Frank House.
