Het Rembrandthuis

The Rembrandthouse is where the painter had his studio and where he created many of his etchings. These prints are by no means to be regarded as inferior by-products of his much more famous paintings. Rembrandt remained actively interested throughout his productive life in the art of printing. The Rembrandthuis is also within walking distance from the Ambassade Hotel.

Het Scheepvaartmuseum (The Maritime Museum)

The collection of the Shipping Museum tells the story of the Netherlands' maritime past. At the landing stage is a replica of the East India liner Amsterdam. The crew on board ship will take you on a journey back in time. A very special museum for both young and old.

Het Tropenmuseum (The Tropical Museum)

The Museum of the Tropics illustrates both the living traditions and the history of various world cultures. Its collection policy of gathering contemporary objects with a focus on items of day to day use, can look back on a long tradition. Based in one of Amsterdam's most beautiful historic buildings, this museum conveys a (sub)tropical atmosphere. From the Ambassade Hotel it can easyly be reached.
