Samual Gassan opens his first diamond polishing factory in 1945
Gassan Diamonds was founded in 1945 by Samuel Gassan. The company's main focus was polishing diamonds and the import and export of rough and polished diamonds, gemstones and jewels. Gassan Diamonds was wholesale and a retail business at the same time. From all over the world tourists came to Amsterdam to see diamond polishers at work. Since 1955 Gassan Diamonds receives tourists and until this day the formula is a success.

Family owned business continues diamond tradition
Samuel Gassan passed away in 1983. Eversince, his two grand sons Benno and Guy Leeser are the head of this impressive company. Benno Leeser is the eldest of the two and has been working for the company since 1973. He is the managing director at the head office in Amsterdam. Guy Leeser started working for the company in 1980 and manages the office in New York.

Today, Gassan Diamonds is located at an old steam driven diamond polishing factory in the historical centre of Amsterdam. The company is specialized in polishing diamonds, the wholesale and retail of loose and set diamonds and selling jewelry and watches. Gassan Diamonds has taken a very progressive position in the diamond trade by introducing their own new cut, called the Gassan 121. During the tour at the polishing area, visitors are introduced to the world of diamonds.

International Growth
Gassan Diamonds has offices and sales representatives all over the world. On many airports the company is represented by jewelry and watch stores. Besides the stores on Schiphol Airport, Gassan Diamonds has Tax Free jewelry stores on international airports like Heathrow, London City Airport and since the beginning of 2008 Gassan Diamonds has 4 new stores on Changi Airport in Singapore.
